Menorca has an excellent range of shopping for such a small island and Menorca also offers a selection of produce made locally.
High street shops do close in the afternoon between 14.00 – 17.00, so ensure your back at the beach, on a trip or staring a long leisurely lunch. However most resort shops offering souvenirs, beach items etc are open all day from 09.00 - 21.00.

Menorca Avarca (Sandals)
Locally crafted on the island the Avarca is a traditional Menorca sandal originally worn by shepherds and labourers. Made from leather uppers and rubber soles recycled from old car tyres the Avarca is a comfortable and cheap sandal perfect for the beach.
Originally there were just two colors beige and blue but today you will find a huge range of colours as well as more modern decorative Avarca designs.. There are two main manufacturers Jalonty based in Fererries and Avarca Pons based in Ciutadella.
Menorca Gin Xoriguer
Menorca is famous for its Xoriguer Gin, its distinctively aromatic flavours are made of grape wine and flavoured with imported juniper berries from mainland space. The actual Gin Distillery at Mahon’s Port dates back the 18th century when it was constructed in order to keep the British Fleet happy.

Supermarkets are well stocked and you'll find a good range of items, you'll notice a large array that a very similar to back home in the UK. resort based supermarkets tend to be more expensive than several larger supermarket in the out skirts, check our our resort guides for more information
Menorca Markets
Menorca markets are busy and full of atmosphere and offer the tourist some fantastic items and souvenirs. Menorca markets sell a large range of produce including fruit, fish, meat and cheese. You will also find a range of leather items, pottery, jewellery and clothing.
Menorca Garden Centres
Well worth a visit are Menorca garden centres, similar to the UK these garden centres don’t just offer plants and flowers they to have expanded to offer a full range of typical Spanish home furnishings with high quality and Mediterranean style your sure to pick a souvenir or present for a loved one.
