Cova d’en Xoroi

Sa Cova d`en Xoroi is in the south coast resort of Cala en Porter. Cova d’en Xoroi used to be a prehistoric dwelling but has been made into a stunning tourist attraction and bar during the day and lively and stylish night club at night.

It’s perched high on the side of a steep cliff with some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. There are several indoor and outside bars with comfortable seating areas where you can relax and unwind enjoying a cold San Miguel or cocktail. There is live music performed most evenings and from 11pm the venue becomes a nightclub playing the latest dance music with national and international DJ’s.

Legend has it that a shipwrecked moor named Xoroi lived in the cave and stole from the local community. Then one day become bored and lonely, kidnapped a local girl from Alaior and imprisoned her in the cave. Then many years later a mysterious snow storm covered the land and locals discovered the moors foot prints. Armed and angry they followed the foot prints back to the hidden cave, where Xoroi, his wife and three son were living. Xoroi cornered in the cave threw himself into the sea followed by a son. The girl with her two sons went back to Alaior and lived happily ever after.
