Alaior Resort Guide

Alaior is a small town located just 7 miles West of Mahon with a population of just 8,500

Alaior is Menorca’s third largest town after Mahon and Ciutadella. With its narrow side streets and white washed houses, Alaior is a wonderful and historic town; with a medieval feel founded in 1304 by King Jaume (James) 11 of Mallorca.

Alaior is the home of the famous Mahon Cheese, made at the Coinga factory; here you can visit the factory shop selling the full range of cheese direct from the factory floor.

There are also numerous smaller personal shop selling a wide range of pots, leather items and other locally crafted produce.

Alaior’s church Santa Eulàlia is a beautiful example of Menorca historic past, its a Baroque styled church rebuilt in the 17th century.
