Necropolis Caves

Known as the Necropolis meaning “city of the dead”, the Cala Morell caves consists of 14 man made caves. The caves date back to the pretalayótic period until the IIC AD times and were used as a burial ground.

The tombs themselves are a marvel of craftsmanship that contain internal pillars, decorated doorways and raised platforms vied for our attention with drainage systems, water storage features and sockets for carpentry
